Extract Valid Email Address in Excel

Email address data are often considered 'dirty' data. Some are tangled with names and brackets, some are just invalid email address that should be discarded. A 'dirty' email list often makes it hard to match, roll-up, dedupe. Some users use DigDB's column split to separate the domain names from an email list. Well, none of these can be done if the list is not cleaned up and validated first. Hence DigDB's Extract Email feature.

DigDB will parse each cell's text, carve out the text around the first '@' character, then match it against the RFC email address format. DigDB recognizes all country codes and domain extensions. Only valid email address will be extracted.

  1. Click a single cell in the email list column, invoke 'DigDB->Selection->Web->Extract Email'
